This game (and the week of practices that precede it) gives NFL teams a chance to evaluate prospects in a controlled setting and see how they do with consistent reps against other players with (projected) NFL talent. With some key positions crowded in this year's draft, the Senior Bowl will be very helpful as teams sort out their draft boards heading into the NFL Combine.

One position where that's the case is wide receiver. Eight of the receivers at this game are all projected to go in a narrow range on Day 2, with the Senior Bowl presenting a chance for any of those players to separate themselves.
Offensive tackle is another position in a similar spot. Six of the tackles at this game are all projected to go in the late first or early second round. Will any from that group stand out?
They'll certainly be tested this week by the top prospect at the game. UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu is the highest-projected player on the field, and he'll certainly get a chance to go one-on-one against many of those tackles.
