Wyndham Clark put together back-to-back rounds of 65 helping him build a four-stroke lead in the 2024 Players Championship. Heading into the weekend Clark is at -14, four strokes ahead of Xander Shauffele and Nick Taylor who are both tied at -10 overall through two rounds of play. Clark entered the second round tied for the lead, one stroke ahead of the field and played another sound round of golf to rise up to build a substantial lead. Rory McIlroy shot a 73 to fall eight strokes off the lead while Schauffele shot a 69 to stay within shouting distance of the lead entering the third round of the 2024 Players Championship.

So far through 36 holes of golf Clark has 16 total birdies, eight a piece in the first and second round. He has two total bogeys, one in each round as well to play the most consistent high-level golf of anyone in the field.
Clark entered the tournament in second place in the FedEx Cup standings and would rise to number one with a win this weekend. This season Clark already has one win and two top 10 finishes getting off to his best start on the PGA Tour since turning professional back in 2017.
For Shauffele, he had a great first round with seven birdies and zero bogeys, but then in the second round he struggled with just three birdies, an eagle and a double-bogey to round out his card. That was still good for three under par, which allowed Schauffele to keep pace with Clark heading into the third round today.
