Manny Pacquiao posted and then deleted an Instagram post on Wednesday that quoted a Bible verse saying gay people should be put to death.

The Bible verse that Pacquiao quoted comes from Leviticus:

“If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable,” Pacquiao quoted. “They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

Pacquiao's Instagram post follows homophobic comments he made earlier this week. In a television interview, Pacquiao—who is running for a Filipino senate seat—compared same-sex relationships to relationships with animals. Pacquiao later apologized, and Nike severed its ties with the boxing star after his comments.

Despite his apology, Pacquiao said he remained opposed to same-sex marriage.

His now–deleted Instagram post from Wednesday can be seen below.
