Carl Pelini is alleged to have used cocaine and marijuana

After former FAU coach Carl Pelini resigned on Wednesday, athletic director Pat Chun mentioned "illegal drug use" as the reason for the decision. Through the Freedom of Information Act, SB Nation's Spencer Hall and Brendan Porath acquired records of affidavits from two individuals who claimed they witnessed Pelini use drugs "on occasion" and that he used both marijuana and cocaine.

“My name is Matt Edwards, and I am personally familiar with the facts contained in this Affidavit. On October 19, 2013, I personally observed Carl Pelini smoking marijuana in Key West, Florida. Within the last 12 months, I have personally observed Carl Pelini use both marijuana and cocaine. Within the last 12 months, I have personally observed Pete Rekstis use both marijuana and cocaine.”
