Florida State LB Thomas suspended, DE Casher reinstated
Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, while defensive end Chris Casher has been reinstated, the school announced on Friday.
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said Thursday that Casher would not play Saturday against the Citadel after being held out of Florida State's season opening win over Oklahoma State for what the school called an "academic related matter." Casher, who had 25 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks last season, was listed as a starter on the team's depth chart last week.

The academic matter has now been resolved, according to reports.
Thomas sat out the Seminoles' season-opening win over Oklahoma State with an ankle injury that will sideline him for Saturday. Sources told Warchant.com that Thomas should be able to return in time for Florida State's Oct. 18 game against Notre Dame. The 6-foot-3, 218-pounder worked mostly with the second unit in preseason camp.
Florida State has seen its linebacker depth thinned by injuries, as sophomore Ukeme Eligwe (foot) is expected to miss several games, freshman Kain Daub (toe) will miss two weeks and freshman Delvin Purifoy (ankle) is out for the season. The Seminoles also won't have standout cornerback P.J. Williams for Saturday as he deals with a hamstring injury.
The Seminoles are ranked No. 1 in the latest Associated Press poll.
