Florida State Seminoles vs. Miami Hurricanes

Saturday’s game at Sun Life Stadium in Miami pits second-ranked Florida State against in-state rival Miami. Florida State (9-0, 6-0 ACC) struggled to put away a pesky Virginia team last Saturday, while the Hurricanes (6-3, 3-2) are coming off a bye week after a 47-21 thrashing of North Carolina on Nov. 1.

Florida State has won 25 games in a row. The Seminoles have beaten Miami four straight times.

Miami is one game back of Georgia Tech in the ACC’s Coastal Division, while the Seminoles own a half-game lead over Clemson in the Atlantic and clinches the division with a win and a Clemson loss to Georgia Tech.

11/7: Florida State 34, Virginia 20

Jameis Winston threw two first-quarter interceptions but bounced back to throw for 261 yards, throwing one touchdown pass and running for another as the Seminoles beat Virginia for the 15th time in 18 all-time meetings. The game took a turn when two second quarter Virginia turnovers led to 14 quick points for the Seminoles.

10/30: Florida State 42, Louisville 31

Louisville scored 21 unanswered points to open the game, including two touchdown runs by Michael Dyer, but Florida State rallied to take the lead early in the fourth quarter on a touchdown pass from Jameis Winston. The Seminoles scored two more touchdowns in the final frame to win by 11.

10/18: Florida State 31, Notre Dame 27

The Seminoles beat the Fighting Irish in a battle of unbeatens in Tallahassee. Notre Dame had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but Corey Robinson's go-ahead touchdown was waved off due to offensive pass interference. Jameis Winston improved to 20-0 as a starter. The Seminoles have scored at least 30 points in all 20 of Winston's starts.

10/11: Florida State 38, Syracuse 20

Florida State improved its record to 6-0 with the win. Quarterback Jameis Winston had a terrific outing, throwing for 317 yards on 30-of-36 passing with three touchdowns. Freshman Dalvin Cook led the way out of the backfield with 122 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries. Rashad Greene became the school's all-time leading receiver after his six-catch, 107-yard day.

11/1: Miami 47, North Carolina 20

Miami running back Duke Johnson passed the 3,000-yard rushing mark, and freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya threw for three touchdowns after sitting for most of the second half as Miami rolled to its third straight victory. Johnson ran for 177 yards, including a 90-yard touchdown in the Hurricanes’ 23-point second quarter to give them a comfortable 30-6 halftime lead.

10/23: Miami 30, Virginia Tech 6

Duke Johnson ran for 249 yards and scored twice, the fourth consecutive game he has run for over 100 yards, while the Hurricanes defense forced turnovers on Virginia Tech’s first three possessions of the second half. Virginia Tech lost for the fourth time in its last five Thursday night games.

10/11: Miami 55, Cincinnati 34.

Miami outgained the Bearcats 621-422 in total offense and saw two running backs go over 100 yards rushing in the same game for the first time in 11 seasons. Miami, which has beaten Cincinnati 11 straight times, got the ball 13 times in the game and scored points on nine of those possessions. Duke Johnson became the school’s career leader in all-purpose yards after running for 162 yards.
