LSU Tigers vs. Texas A&M Aggies

LSU and Texas A&M will meet Thursday night in College Station for a SEC West showdown. Both teams have struggled to meet expectations in conference play, with each entering the weekend 7-4 overall and 3-4 in SEC play.

The Tigers are coming off two straight losses, most recently a 17-0 shutout at the hands of Arkansas on Nov. 15. LSU also lost to Alabama in overtime, 20-13, on Nov. 8. Texas A&M lost to Missouri, 34-27, on Nov. 15.

LSU

11/15: Arkansas 17, LSU 0

LSU was shut out for the first time since the national championship against Alabama three seasons ago. Arkansas went up 17-0 early in the fourth quarter before Anthony Jennings fumbled, icing the game for the Razorbacks. The Tigers managed 123 yards of total offense, 87 coming through the air via Jennings, who went 12-of-22 on the day.

11/8: Alabama 20, LSU 13 OT

The Tigers took a 13-10 lead with less than a minute remaining, but Alabama forced overtime and DeAndrew White's touchdown catch won the game for the Crimson Tide. Anthony Jennings completed just eight of 26 passes for 76 yards, one touchdown and one interception as LSU was held to 259 yards of total offense.

10/25: LSU 10, Ole Miss 7

LSU gave then-No. 3 Ole Miss its first loss of the season despite turning the ball over four times. Safety Ronald Martin sealed the win by intercepting Bo Wallace at the one-yard line with two seconds remaining. Freshman running back Leonard Fournette led the Tigers with 113 rushing yards on 23 carries.

10/18: LSU 41, Kentucky 3

LSU's win was its sixth of the season, making the team bowl-eligible for a program-record 15th straight year. Running back Terrence Magee had a season-high 127 rushing yards and tied a career high with two rushing touchdowns. Linebacker Kendell Beckwith had a career‐high nine tackles.

10/11: LSU 30, Florida 27

The Tigers were able to hold off Florida for their fifth win of the season. Leonard Fournette had a big day for LSU with 140 yards and three touchdowns. Anthony Jennings managed just 110 passing yards while completing less than 50 percent of his passes. On defense, the Tigers were able to force three turnovers. 

10/4:Auburn 41, LSU 7

LSU was unable to overcome a four-touchdown performance from Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall as LSU was blown out on the road. Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris combined for just 142 yards with no touchdowns on 8-of-24 passing. The lone score for the Tigers was a one-yard touchdown run from Kenny Hilliard late in the first quarter, but Auburn had already jumped out to a 17-point lead.

9/27: LSU 63, New Mexico State 7

LSU was able to overcome four turnovers in its blowout win over the Aggies. Leonard Fournette rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown, while Brandon Harris threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Harris added another two scores on the ground. As a team, LSU rushed for 363 yards and five touchdowns.

9/20:Mississippi State 34, LSU 29

LSU lost its first game to Mississippi State at home since 1991. Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott racked up 373 total yards and three touchdowns. Bulldogs running back Josh Robinson added 197 yards on the ground and a score. The LSU offense was led by two 100-yard receivers in Travin Dural (124 yards) and Malachi Dupre (120 yards, two touchdowns).

9/13: LSU 31, Louisiana-Monroe 0

The LSU defense pitched its second shutout in as many weeks while holding Louisiana-Monroe to just 93 total yards. The Tigers had five players run the ball at least seven times on their way to 219 total rushing yards and four touchdowns.

9/6: LSU 56, Sam Houston State 0

LSU ran for 334 yards as a team in the blowout win while Travin Dural again led the receiving corps with 140 yards and three touchdowns on just three catches. Freshman running back Leonard Fournette led the rushing attack with 92 yards and a touchdown.

8/30: LSU 28, Wisconsin 24

LSU scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to complete a comeback over the Badgers. Kenny Hilliard capped off the win with a 28-yard touchdown run. Hilliard finished the game with 110 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards. Travin Dural led the way for the Tigers with 151 receiving yards and a score.

Texas A&M

11/15: Missouri 34, Texas A&M 27

Texas A&M fell out of the top 25 after a home upset by Missouri. The Aggies came to within a touchdown of the lead in the fourth quarter after a Kyle Allen touchdown pass and had a chance to tie the game from the Missouri two-yard line with less than three minutes remaining, but the Aggies were unable to convert on fourth-and-goal. Allen went 24-of-35 for 237 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

11/8: Texas A&M 41, Auburn 38

Texas A&M forced three turnovers, including a pair of late fumbles, to beat then-No. 3 Auburn on the road. Starting in place of the suspended Kenny Hill, Kyle Allen completed 19 of 29 passes for 277 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Malcome Kennedy had four catches for 118 yards to lead the Aggies.

11/1: Texas A&M 21, UL-Monroe 16

Quarterback Kyle Allen threw for only 106 yards as the Aggies held off UL-Monroe at home. The Aggies turned the ball over twice and only managed 243 yards of total offense in the victory, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

10/18:Alabama 59, Texas A&M 0

Texas A&M was outgained 602-172 by Alabama in a blowout loss. Kenny Hill completed 17 of 26 passes for 138 yards and an interception, and the Aggies only managed 31 rushing yards. Alabama receiver Amari Cooper torched Texas A&M for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

10/11: Ole Miss 35, Texas A&M 20

The Aggies dropped their second game in a row. Quarterback Kenny Hill threw for 401 yards and two touchdowns but also had two interceptions. The ground game for the Aggies was ineffective, as Tre Carson led the way with just 29 yards. Freshman Speedy Noil finished the game with 11 catches for 105 yards. 

10/4: Mississippi State 48, Texas A&M 31

Kenny Hill was picked off three times by a stout Mississippi State defense as the Aggies dropped their first game of the season to the Bulldogs. After taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, the Aggies never led again. Dak Prescott and the Mississippi State offense racked up 48 points and 559 yards of total offense.

9/27: Texas A&M 35, Arkansas 28 (OT)

Texas A&M fought back from a 28-14 deficit in the third quarter to beat Arkansasin overtime. Kenny Hill threw for 386 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Wide receiver Edward Pope caught four passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

9/20: Texas A&M 58, SMU 6

After topping SMU, the Aggies were off to their first 4-0 start since 2006. Wide receiver Jeremy Tabuyo had touchdown catches of 30 yards and 50 yards. Kenny Hill averaged 12 yards per attempt in throwing for 265 yards and two touchdown passes.

9/13: Texas A&M 38, Rice 10

The Aggies were outgained 481-477 but still earned a convincing victory. Defensive end Myles Garrett had 2.5 sacks, giving him 5.5 for the season, already a school freshman record. Hill became the first player in school history to throw for 1,000 yards in the first three games of a season.

9/6: Texas A&M 73, Lamar 3

Kenny Hill threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns before being pulled due to the lopsidedness of the game. In relief of Hill, backup quarterback Kenny Allen threw for 122 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Aggies combined for 225 rushing yards. Texas A&M held Lamar to 243 total yards.

8/28: Texas A&M 52, South Carolina 28

In his first game as the starting quarterback, Kenny Hill threw for a school-record 511 passing yards. Texas A&M's 680 total yards were the most South Carolina has given up in school history. The Aggies were successful on 12 of 17 third-down conversions.
