Oregon cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu hurt a knee in practice this week and his status for the Ducks' playoff game is uncertain, according to a person with knowledge of the injury.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the program does not discuss injuries.

Ekpre-Olomu, a first-team All-America selection, was injured in practice on Tuesday. Yahoo Sports was the first to report the injury.

Ekpre-Olomu is widely considered among the top cornerbacks for next year's NFL draft. The senior was a Jim Thorpe Award finalist this season.

The injury is a blow for the No. 3 Ducks (12-1) as they prepare to face No. 2 Florida State (13-0) in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. Top-ranked Alabama (12-1) faces No. 5 Ohio State (12-1) in the other national semifinal.

The Ducks will look to redshirt freshman Chris Seisay and senior Dior Mathis to step up in if Ekpre-Olomu can't play.

Ekpre-Olomu has 63 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups this season, with opposing offenses often avoiding him.

The Ducks had Wednesday off but will resume practice Thursday through Saturday this week before the players leave for the holiday break.
