Report: Everett Golson transfer list includes Florida State, Alabama
Notre Dame will not block quarterback Everett Golson from transferring to any of the 10 schools on a list that he submitted for consideration, including Florida State and Alabama, ESPN reported Monday.
Golson's list is comprised solely of schools from the Power 5 conferences, and includes South Carolina and "at least one Pac-12 school," according to the report. Golson played high school football in South Carolina.
A report from Fox Sports Monday indicated Notre Dame would deny Golson the ability to transfer to any of the schools it will face during the 2015 season, which include Texas, Virginia, Georgia Tech, UMass, Clemson, Navy, USC, Temple, Pitt, Wake Forest, Boston College and Stanford. In addition, the report said, Golson could be barred from transferring to Big Ten schools and SEC schools.

An SEC rule could jeopardize Golson's ability to land at either Alabama or South Carolina. A conference bylaw requires graduate transfers to have not been, "subject to official university of athletics department disciplinary action at any time during enrollment at any previous collegiate institution."
Golson sat out the 2013 season after being suspended for poor academic performance, the year following his leading the Irish to the BCS title game against Alabama.
During the 2014 season, Golson threw for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns, but was benched for the team's appearance in the Music City Bowl. Rising junior quarterback Malik Zaire is expected to replace Golson for the Fighting Irish in 2015.
