Report: Braxton Miller (shoulder) fully cleared to throw
Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller has been fully cleared to throw, reports 247Sports.com. Miller was given clearance with "no limitations" on Monday, June 8, the report says.
Miller missed all of last season after tearing his labrum and undergoing surgery in August. He first injured his shoulder during the Buckeyes' Orange Bowl loss to Clemson at the end of the 2013 season.
With Miller sidelined in 2014, backup J.T. Barrett led Ohio State to a 10-1 record and emerged as a Heisman Trophy candidate before suffering an ankle fracture in the regular season finale against Michigan.
Third-string signal-caller Cardale Jones took over for Barrett and helped the Buckeyes beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game, Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals and Oregon in the national championship game.
There was speculation over whether Miller could seek to transfer and play elsewhere this season, but Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said last month that he would remain at Ohio State.

The news comes on the heels of reports that Miller had a "minor setback" a few weeks ago during workouts, having a little bit of pain in his throwing shoulder. Sources have confirmed that it was nothing more than some normal soreness, and since then Urban Meyer has come out and stated that he expects Miller to be healthy and ready to compete for the starting quarterback job this year.
Miller is expected to compete with Barrett and Jones for the starting quarterback job this fall. Ohio State opens the season Sept. 7 at Virginia Tech.
