Look: Jerome Ford Misses Senior Bowl For Daughter's Birth, Desmond Ridder Wins Offensive Player of the Game

The Bearcats star had a life-changing weekend.

CINCINNATI — Former Cincinnati Bearcats running back Jerome Ford had a special weekend in an unexpected way. Ford ended up missing Saturday's Senior Bowl to make it to Tampa, Florida in time for his daughter's birth.

Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy unveiled the story on Twitter.

It was quite the journey for Ford, who went from trying to impress scouts to scouting his most important responsibility yet. Despite the running back's absence, the UC contingent still made a big impact on the game.

Desmond Ridder led the way for Cincinnati players in the 20-10 National Team win. Ridder tossed two touchdown passes and was named Offensive Player of the Game. He finished 4-6 for 68 yards and the two scores. His only incompletions came on a drop and a throwaway.
