Myjai Sanders' Rare Cotton Bowl Performance Earns him a Spot on PFF All-Bowl Team

The Bearcats edge rusher is expected to go off the board in the first three rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.

CINCINNATI — Myjai Sanders wreaked havoc on opposing offensive lines all season long, and the Cotton Bowl was no different. The edge rusher posted a rare performance against Alabama that earned him a spot on the PFF All-Bowl Team.

"Only two edge defenders in the PFF College era (since 2014) have generated double-digit pressures against an Alabama offensive line," Anthony Treash wrote. "One of those two was Myjai Sanders in this year's Cotton Bowl. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound edge defender turned in a 40.7% win rate and 10 total pressures from 27 pass-rush snaps en route to an 84.3 pass-rush grade for the game."

Sanders finished the Cotton Bowl with seven tackles. He had just 2.5 sacks this season, but pressures are more indicative of pass-rush productivity, and Sanders is one of the top players in the Draft at collapsing pockets.

Sanders is Mel Kiper Jr.'s eighth-ranked edge rusher out of this year's class.
