Watch: Darrian Beavers Mic'd up Ahead of AAC Championship Game
CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bearcats are prepping for the AAC Championship game this weekend. Senior linebacker Darrian Beavers got mic'd up at practice this week and had plenty of hijinks ready for his teammates.
Beavers is one of the vocal leaders on this Bearcats defense that's turned into one of the nation's best units. The defense ranks in the top ten nationally of multiple categories, including No. 3 in yards per play allowed (4.3 YPP), No. 3 in TD passes allowed (8), and No. 8 in total defense (303.3 YPG allowed). They finished the regular season ranked fourth nationally in EPA/play allowed (-0.173).
The senior is headed to Mobile, Alabama in January to participate in the Senior Bowl. Beavers was a First-Team All-AAC selection in 2021, amassing 79 tackles, three sacks, and one interception during the regular season.
Beavers plays his final g at Nippert Stadium in the AAC Championship game this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET against No. 21 Houston.
