Report: 2023 Three-Star Guard Trey Autry Visiting Cincinnati
CINCINNATI — Three-star 2023 shooting guard Trey Autry is starting to narrow down his school options and UC is one of the three schools with the most interest in him. According to Dushawn London, that's prompted Autry to schedule a visit to Cincinnati.
UC offered Autry back at the end of June and has been slowly rising up his school option list throughout the summer. The Western Academy Reserve (Ohio) senior previously said he was "hoping" to commit "by October but not sure yet” after reopening his recruitment.
According to 247Sports, Autry is the 32nd-ranked shooting guard and the eighth-ranked player in Ohio. He holds 13 offers from schools like Bryant, Maryland, and Nebraska.
“I’ve taken two visits, I’ve set up a third one and I think I’m going to take a second one to one of the schools I’ve gone to,” Autry told London. “So far I’ve visited Rhode Island and George Washington and set up a visit to Cincinnati."
Autry is liking what assistant coach Mike Roberts and Wes Miller are selling.
“I like coach Roberts and coach Wes Miller," Autry said. "Obviously I’m going out there to see what’s everything like but it’s been good so far.”
Autry is a thicker 6-foot-3 guard with a quick, smooth jump shot and an active play style every coach would love. He does a great job anticipating passing lanes and can get moving on a fast break. Autry's handle gets the job done as well for a player that Cincinnati could have little trouble landing in the current climate.
There's a big difference between playing in the Big 12 and playing at George Washington/Rhode Island. Check out Autry's highlights here.
