Four-Star Guard Jizzle James Puts UC in Top-Three Schools

The dynamic scorer is a top-60 prospect nationally.

CINCINNATI — One of the Bearcats 2023 basketball targets just narrowed down his list to three teams.

Olympia (Florida) four-star point guard Edgerrin "Jizzle" James is keeping UC in the mix along with LSU, and Georgia.

According to 247Sports Composite, James is the 51st-ranked player in the class and the eighth-ranked point guard. ESPN has him ranked as the 55th-best player in the class and the 13th-best point guard.

James is the son of NFL Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James who played 11 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks in the 2000s.

His son has plenty of potential on the hardwood. Jizzle sports a smooth, quick-trigger jumper and unteachable agility on the open floor. Speed is a big component in his game and he uses it as his primary weapon to attack the basket.

“The bond is great," James told On3's Joe Tipton. "They are a traditional basketball school. The coach loves my style and thinks I fit perfect and would let me play my game.”

On3 currently gives UC a 26.7% chance of landing him just behind Georgia (35.6%) and LSU (31.2%). He makes an official visit to UC from Sept. 23-25 and then is making his decision in November.
