Florida State gets big news as starting pass-catcher plans to return

In this story:
The Florida State Seminoles need something good to happen. For the most part, it's felt like wave after wave of negative news since the 2025 season came to a close.
The program simply can't catch a break right now, as a slew of promising players have departed from Tallahassee to enter the transfer portal.

Head coach Mike Norvell and his staff have retained a couple of key Seminoles. Another name can be added to that list as of Saturday night.
Jayvan Boggs Plans To Exit Transfer Portal, Return To FSU

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, true freshman wide receiver Jayvan Boggs plans to exit the transfer portal and return to Florida State in 2026. Boggs took visits to Missouri and Ole Miss but ultimately will make his way back to the Seminoles.
It's possible that Lawayne McCoy's recent move to the portal had an impact on Boggs changing his mind. The rising sophomore will have an opportunity to be a full-time starter alongside Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy.

Boggs appeared in eight games and made four starts this past season, catching nine passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. He dealt with injuries throughout the campaign, limiting his action at different junctures.
The Florida native signed with Florida State as a four-star prospect in the 2025 class. He set the high school football single-game state record for receiving yards during his senior season with a 17 catch, 378-yard, and three touchdown performance.
Boggs stands at 6-foot-1, 211-pounds. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
