Maryland Football has one of the 'most impactful' transfers for the 2025 season

Maryland football didn't just build up its 2025 recruiting class, but the Terrapins went into the transfer portal to find some players. With Maryland losing all three of its top quarterbacks, Mike Locksley added UCLA transfer Justyn Martin to battle with incoming freshman Malik Washington, but that wasn't all he did.
Arguably the biggest addition came when 6-7, 323-pound offensive lineman, Rahtrel Perry, committed to Maryland over Ohio State and others. The former Central Connecticut lineman ranked as the 87th-best player in the transfer portal, via 247Sports.
With the addition of Perry, 247Sports calls Perry one of the most impactful transfers heading into the 2025 football season.
"Perry makes his way to Maryland by way of Central Connecticut, where he worked primarily at left tackle for the Blue Devils this past season. Estimated at 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds, the former FCS standout will more than likely work out at multiple spots on the offensive line before eventually finding the right fit at the FBS level. Possessing a wide frame and thick lower half, Perry's twitch and explosiveness could one day suggest moving inside to guard, as he displays the quickness, twitch and power to develop as an NFL prospect."
Following his commitment to Maryland, Perry told On3, “After having a talk with Coach Locks I could tell he’s a prestigious coach,” Perry told On3. “He had a great history back at Alabama. I could tell the love and passion behind the sport and know I could play for him.”
“It was the culture as well,” Perry said. “Great people over there. Great coaching staff. I had an instant connection with the o-line coach and everyone on that staff.”
