Report: Mississippi State Basketball's KeShawn Murphy Enters The Transfer Portal

The sophomore will enter the transfer portal and open another scholarship slot for incoming talent.

STARKVILLE, Miss - The Mississippi State Bulldogs have another talented player departing by way of the transfer portal.

As reported by multiple outlets, 6'10 sophomore Keshawn Murphy has entered the transfer portal now that the season is completed. Murphy averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 21 games played for the maroon and white this season.

He is the fourth player with a scholarship to enter the portal alongside Shakeel Moore, Jaquan Scott, and Trey Fort. With these scholarship spots open, head coach Chris Jans has the opportunity to bring in more talent to surround Josh Hubbard for next season. One of those steps has already been made with the addition of guard Kanye Clary.

The Birmingham, Alabama native spent most of his MSU career either injured or out for personal reasons per coach Jans. When he was available, he spent most of his time coming off the bench averaging 13 minutes per game behind Cameron Matthews who was selected to the All-SEC defensive team.

Now with his sights set on a new opportunity, Murphy can be an explosive wing for a team. He has the creative ability to create his shot while also posing a threat as a lengthy defender.
