Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup - February 18th

In this story:
It was a very busy week for Notre Dame recruiting. That went up all the way up until Sunday when the program received a commitment from 2025 wide receiver Shaun Terry. He is the 16th commitment in the country, which is a crazy number for this time of the year.
Let’s catch up on everything that happened on the recruiting trail this past week. There is a lot to keep you busy.
RECENT RECRUITING NEWS
The Notre Dame offensive line class is filling up quickly. With two commitments already from Owen Strebig and Will Black, there may only be one spot left in the 2025 class. One name to keep a close eye on is Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School standout Matty Augustine, who is set to make his college decision on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:30 AM eastern time.
Augustine released a list of his five final schools that he will be picking from. It was no surprise that Notre Dame was a part of that group.
It’s uncertain if the Irish will end up taking four offensive lineman in the class. If they do, they are in a solid position with 2025 Eureka (Mo.) High School star Jack Lange. The 6-8, 275-pound offensive tackle dropped his top six schools this week and Notre Dame was included.
A part of the week’s madness, it was announced that safeties coach Chris O’Leary would be leaving to take a job with the Los Angeles Chargers. That left some uneasiness with the safety recruits who were already committed in the 2025 class? According to Ethan Long and Ivan Taylor, there is no change. They are still firm in their commitments.
Notre Dame is also very much in the game with 2025 Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor safety JaDon Blair, who has already set up an official visit to the school in June. Blair gave some insight into Coach O’Leary leaving and how it affects his recruitment.
It’s that time of the year, schools are busy finalizing both unofficial and official visits for the rest of the offseason. Some of the 2025 recruits who have already solidified trips are Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright, Davie (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna pass catcher Koby Howard, La Verne (Calif.) Bonita linebacker Noah Mikhail, Omaha (Neb.) Westside linebacker Christian Jones, Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis cornerback Mark Zackery, Buford (Ga.) High School cornerback Devin Williams, and 2026 Cocoa (Fla.) High School quarterback Brady Hart.
RECRUITING INTERVIEWS
Notre Dame has been on a hot streak recently when it comes to gaining 2025 commitments. One of them was from Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic wide receiver Elijah Burress, who is the son of former NFL star Plaxico Burress. His junior film was very promising and the best part, Burress is just starting to learn how good he can be.
It was a masterful job by the Irish to close on Burress so quickly. They truly made him feel like home from the jump.
One of the top targets left on the board at wide receiver in the 2025 class is Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy standout Jerome Bettis Jr., who is a legacy for the Irish program. According to his coaches, Bettis brings a ton of upside to the table. Notre Dame has continued to live the needle with the Georgia native.
One player that Notre Dame was making a strong push for is 2025 Ironton (Ohio) High School wide receiver Shaun Terry, who is one of the more interesting athletes in the class. He is used as a pass catcher, in the run game, on defense, as a dynamic punt returner and everything in between.
Terry offers a unique skill set. The Ironton star is asked to do a lot on the football field, and has tended to really excel in whatever he has been asked to do. Notre Dame was able to land one of the more unique wide receivers nationally.
It’s never too early to talk about 2026 quarterback recruiting, especially since Notre Dame already holds a commitment from Deuce Knight in the 2025 class. Here are some of the best early 2026 signal callers on the Irish radar, and where things stand.
