Oklahoma Lines up Gameday Visits with Highly Touted Prospects

The Sooners will host blue-chip recruits Kamieon Compton-Nero and Jordan Hicks during their 2026 campaign.

Now that the 2026 season is less than two weeks away, the Sooners have begun scheduling gameday visits with high school prospects.

One of the highly touted recruits who will be on campus during the fall is Class of 2028 athlete Kamieon Compton-Nero, who hails from Owasso, Okla. Compton-Nero will attend the Sooners’ season opener against UTEP on Sept. 4 before attending Oklahoma’s annual Red River Rivalry game against Texas on Oct. 10.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 185 pounds, Compton-Nero is a consensus 4-star recruit. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Compton-Nero is the No. 48 overall prospect, the No. 1 athlete and the No. 1 player from Oklahoma from the 2028 class.

The Sooners are recruiting Compton-Nero to play safety. As a sophomore at Rejoice Christian School, Compton-Nero registered 95 tackles, five interceptions and three return touchdowns. He also was an offensive force, finishing the year with 3,335 yards of offense and 49 total touchdowns.

Compton-Nero has already taken a handful of visits to Oklahoma, including three gameday trips last year. The athlete previously told Sooners On SI that he was “excited” to continue building relationships with OU’s staff.

In addition to his two planned visits to watch the Sooners, Compton-Nero will take gameday visits to Ole Miss, Alabama, SMU, Texas Tech, LSU and Notre Dame, per his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Cornerback Jordan Hicks of Mission Viejo, Calif., will also be on campus during the fall, per Blair Angulo of 247Sports.

Hicks is another consensus 4-star recruit. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back is the No. 144 overall player from the Class of 2028, per 247Sports.

During his sophomore year at Mission Viejo High School, Hicks logged 62 tackles, five interceptions, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Hicks will also take gameday visits to USC, UCLA, Alabama, Nebraska, Miami and Oregon throughout the fall.

Sooners continuing to build momentum with blue-chip targets

Arizona-based safety Jaelyn Easterling-Flores is down to six schools, and Oklahoma is one of them, per a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Flores is a consensus top-100 prospect, and he is the No. 59 overall player in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the Class of 2028.

As a sophomore at Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz., Easterling-Flores compiled 45 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He is high school teammates with cornerback Mikyal Davis, a cornerback committed to OU from the 2027 class.

The other five schools reportedly still in the mix for Easterling-Flores are LSU, Texas, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Miami.

Oklahoma also made the cut for defensive lineman Kellan Hall, who narrowed his list of schools down to 12, per Fawcett.

Hall is a 5-star recruit and the No. 2 overall player from the Class of 2028, according to Rivals. The Louisville, Ky., native is a consensus top-10 recruit, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 265 pounds.

Hall has already taken four unofficial visits to Oklahoma, most recently doing so during June. He competed at one of the Brent Venables Football Camps before taking a full unofficial visit on his 16th birthday.

According to Fawcett’s report, the other schools included in Hall’s top 12 are Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, Oregon, Miami and Kentucky.
