Memphis star freshman James Wiseman can return to the hardwood on January 12 against South Florida after the NCAA suspended him for a total of 12 games. However, the NCAA ruled that he must donate $11,500 to a charity of his choice. This ruling stems from Memphis Coach Penny Hardaway helping Wiseman’s mother to relocate him in high school. SI’s Robin Lundberg says it’s outrageous to force an unpaid athlete to pay what essentially amounts to a large fine.
