During Sunday’s Grand Prix de Fourmies in Northern France, a fan helped prevent a potentially massive crash by removing a rider’s bike from the course.

The riders were nearing the finish line, with about 1.5 km left, when a rider at the front tumbled to the ground. The crash just happened to occur in front of one of the few spectators on the course. The fan darted into the road and removed the rider’s bike, just before the large pack of riders approached where he was.

Italian Fabian Felline won the race. Nacer Bouhanni was the top Frenchman, finishing third.
