Hermès is reopening its Beverly Hills boutique next week; to celebrate the occasion, the French luxury brand unveiled a limited edition (only two were made) calfskin basketball that will retail for $12,900. Though the ball's core function is as a conversation piece (the conversation being, "Are you poor?" "No."), Hermès U.S. CEO Robert Chavez tells THR that it "certainly can be used for play." But only on zebra wood basketball courts, presumably.
