Clearly inspired by Ric Flair's pep talk, the Niners ignored the cold and beat the Packers on a last-second field goal that was thisclose to being blocked. Packers fullback John Kuhn will spend the offseason thinking not only of the loss, but his failed attempt at a Lambeau Leap (though he did avoid these overly grabby fans). Kudos to the Packers fans who not only attended the game in weather that was 4 degrees, but grilled their beers to keep them from freezing. And kudos to Niners coach Jim Harbaugh, who won the award for most layers worn at one time. As for Sunday's other game, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw three interceptions in the Chargers 27-10 win over Cincinnati, which dropped Marvin Lewis' career playoff record to 0-5 (and continued Jeff Triplette's push to be the NFL's most hated referee). Phillip Rivers celebrated the victory with a primal scream and a good luck bolo tie.

Meanwhile in Boston

Tom Brady enjoyed a weekend off the field, playing with his kids and pushing a baby stroller with the family dog in it.

Huge Day For Jewish Athletes

Congrats to Northwestern forward Aaron Liberman, who became the first player in Big Ten history to wear a yarmulke during a game.

The Weekend of J.R. Smith

It was an interesting weekend for J.R. Smith. The guard frustrated Knicks fans by putting up an ill-advised three pointer in the closing seconds of Friday's game against Houston but redeemed himself by subtly untying Shawn Marion's sneaker during a free throw attempt on Sunday.

It's Howie Long's 54th birthday. What better way to celebrate than with a photo of him giving Mel Gibson a fireman's carry during the 1986 filming of Lethal Weapon. For more classic sports pics, follow the SI Vault on Twitter. While you’re at it, follow me on Twitter as well as SI’s Extra Mustard.
