Los Angeles Angels pitcher Garrett Richards briefly rendered catchers obsolete on Monday night when he fired a pitch off the backstop at Nationals Park that ricocheted right back to the mound.

While Richards' new discovery could save teams millions by eliminating a position, the cost of never throwing a strike probably outweighs the savings.
