Bob Newhart knows he looks just like the National Championship ref

As many people noted on Twitter last night, Greg Burks, the head referee for the Big 12 crew officiating the College Football Playoff championship game, looks a lot like comedy legend Bob Newhart.

The always sharp Newhart decided to use the chatter in his favor, and tweeted out that he was in fact pursuing a new career as a college football ref.

If the 85-year-old Newhart is going to take credit for Burks' officiating, then it is only fair that Burks take over a few of Newhart's stand-up dates.
