Capitals' Tom Wilson gets asked to prom at game vs. Wild

If South Lakes High School junior Jenna Boyer has her way, the Capitals' Tom Wilson will be joining her at prom in a few months.

Tom Wilson is a hockey player for the Washington Capitals, so naturally he spends a lot of his time on the ice. But if South Lakes High School junior Jenna Boyer has her way, Wilson’s only ice-related concerns come June 13 will be making sure she doesn’t lose any jewelry on the dance floor.

Boyer wants Wilson to go to prom with her, is what’s happening here.

Her ideal scenario would see Wilson accompany her while teammate Michael Latta took her friend, assuming, of course, that Wilson and Latta were not occupied with the Stanley Cup chase—or another date.

Jenna asked Wilson to prom at the Capitals' home loss to the Wild on Thursday, and her request got some attention.

Boyd has already met Wilson twice, but no word on whether he has responded to her proposal.
