Gov. Chris Christie visits the Mets at spring training
New Jersey governor Chris Christie may prefer the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to the NFL, but he likes to stay local with his baseball allegiances.
The sports-loving politician visited the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Thursday to get an early look at the team's 2015 roster.
Perhaps the Mets could ask him for some of the "mojo" Jerry Jones said Christie provided for the Cowboys last season.
ESPN's Adam Rubin reports that U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY 16th) was also in attendance at the team's facilities on Thursday.
