The NCAA starts in earnest today after the First Four finished up on Wednesday night with Robert Morris and Dayton earning the right to take on Duke and Providence respectively. Even if college basketball is in a bit of a scoring rut this season, the sheer volume of games being played always makes the tourney's first round one of the most exciting in sports. March also means it is time for novelty brackets galore, and this year is no different, with mascot deathbrackets, NFL nicknames, late night college eating staples and best movie death scenes.
UNC Demotes Roy Williams
Poor Roy Williams. He leads North Carolina to a four-seed in the tournament and then opens the team's postseason program to discover he has been demoted to assistant coach. Congrats to Steve Robinson on the new gig though.

Hartford's new Double A affiliate needed a name, so it sought the community's advice, and the good people of Hartford came through big time, as the team is now called the Hartford Yard Goats. Some people will tell you this is a terrible name. Those people are boring.
