Old Dominion fan dances shirtless at NIT game

Tuesday March 24th, 2015

March Madness may only refer to the opening rounds of the NCAA tournament, but that doesn't mean fans at the NIT aren't fired up, as well.

For this Old Dominion fan, the stakes were high — and so was his shirt.

No. 1 seed ODU faced off against No. 4 seed Illinois State at home in Norfolk and, in the midst of their NIT second-round match up, this fan took off his shirt to fire up the team and his fellow Monarch supporters.

His contribution may have been brief, but it no doubt helped Old Dominion, who narrowly defeated the Redbirds, 50-49.

ODU plays Murray State in the NIT's round of eight on Wednesday. The Monarchs will need to make it to the championship game in order to face Louisiana Tech, the only team with fans who could match the intensity of Old Dominion's supporters.
