Harrison Barnes writes handwritten note turning down prom invitation

Prom season is a hectic time of year for upperclassmen in high school. They have to buy their outfit, organize transportation and most importantly, find a date.
Unfortunately for prom attendees looking to invite an NBA player, it just so happens that time of year is also pretty busy for basketball players on teams heading to the playoffs.

So when a teenager asked Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes to accompany her to prom, it is understandable that he had to respectfully decline her invitation.
Barnes made sure to give that news to her directly via a handwritten card. He also apologized on Twitter for not being able to go.
Sorry I can't make prom, Aleena. A little busy... Glad you got my card though. Oracle was crazy tonight!! #DubNation pic.twitter.com/1BqhCwgmyL

The card read:
To Aleena,
I'm sorry I can't make it to prom. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
Needless to say, Aleena was excited.
Harrison, I think she forgives you.
