The Los Angeles Angels had a record-breaking Cinco de Mayo thanks to fans and 25,111 sombreros.

Fans arriving at Angels Stadium of Anaheim on Tuesday were handed sombreros with the Angels logo and colors as they walked through the gates and they all donned the wide-brimmed hats when given the signal by the scoreboard, thus setting the new Guinness world record for largest gathering of people wearing sombreros.

This is not the first hat-related world record for the Angels squad as they set the mark for most Santa hats worn by a gathering of people at a game last summer, to add to the team's already existing records of most people wearing cowboy hats, most people wearing wigs, and most people wearing fleece blankets.

The hats must have been good luck, as the Halos won on a walk-off home run from Carlos Perez in his MLB debut.
