A terrible 24-hour bug seems to have hit Denver on Tuesday as a whopping 24,152 students missed school that day, which surely had nothing to do with the fact that the Broncos held their Super Bowl parade that morning.

The Denver Post reports that over a quarter of the students enrolled in Denver Public Schools missed part or all of school on the day that Peyton Manning, Von Miller and company celebrated their win in the streets.

The Mayor of Denver tweeted that over a million fans made it out for the rally to celebrate the team’s first Super Bowl victory since 1997.

The number is made even more impressive by the fact that the city’s population is only 649,495.
