As part of what we imagine was a forced marketing ploy that hopefully involved chicken wings, a Hooters waitress took in spring training as a ball girl during a game on Thursday. On this particular foul ball in the fourth inning, she makes a throw difficult to understand even after repeat viewings.

OK, so obviously the camera work is a bit disorienting, but how in the world did this happen? Every time I watch the release of the ball, it comes so late I almost expect the ball to fly backwards. Instead, the ball flies nearly straight up, in a tight parabola, and falls well short of making it into the stands.
