Every week, SBLive compiles the best high school sports performances across the country with the help of fans, readers and staff.

Now, you get to decide which young athlete rose above the rest.

Here are the nominees for SBLive's National Athlete of the Week for Dec. 26-Dec. 31. Voting closes on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) and winners are announced on Mondays.

Omaha Biliew, Waukee (Iowa) boys basketball

The senior future Iowa State Cyclone poured in 40 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 71-61 win over Johnston. Bilew made 6 of 7 3-point shots for the 7-1 Warriors.

Ellie Bost, La Salle (Washington) girls basketball

The sophomore sizzled at the Eagle Holiday Classic, hitting five 3-pointers on her way to a school-record 39 points in a win over Newport. She also had 20 points in the team’s win over Kettle Falls.

Kanon Catchings, Brownsburg (Indiana) boys basketball

The Purdue commit scored a tourney-record 39 points in a 75-51 victory over host Kokomo in the Phil Cox Memorial Tournament final.

Jackson Shelstad, West Linn (Oregon) boys basketball

The Oregon commit averaged 33 points over four games to lead West Linn to a head-turning Les Schwab Invitational championship that included wins over two nationally ranked teams — No. 16 Sierra Canyon and No. 1 Duncanville.

Shay Shippen, Skyline (Idaho) girls basketball

Racked up a stat line of 34 points - including six 3 pointers - 11 rebounds and seven assists in a 67-60 win against American Fork (UT).
