Bronny James Ranks No. 19 in ESPN’s Final Class of 2023 Rankings

ESPN released its final basketball recruitment rankings for the Class of 2023 on Tuesday. Bronny James, son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, has been climbing the rankings throughout his senior year, and he managed to crack the top 20 in ESPN’s final rankings. 

James, who remains one of the last remaining uncommitted recruits in the class of 2023, has jumped up into the No. 19 spot in the ESPN’s Top 100. It’s a nice leap for Bronny, who was heralded as the No. 28 recruit back in March.

When it comes to college, James has yet to make his decision, but ESPN indicates USC and Oregon are “high on his list.” 

ESPN gave him a rating of 89 out of 100, ranking him in between No. 18 Sean Stewart and No. 20 Mookie Cook, who have committed to Duke and Oregon, respectively.

Bronny remains a four-star recruit in ESPN’s database, as well as Rivals and 247Sports. However, On3 bumped him up to five-star status earlier this year, and he’s even managed to crack the top 10 of their recruitment list for the Class of 2023. 

James stands in at 6-3 and 180 pounds. The point guard had a strong showing at the McDonald’s All-American Game this year, something which scouts seem to have noticed. While he didn’t crack the threshold to become a five-star recruit in ESPN’s eyes, he’s still managed to surge up the rankings late into his senior year.
