Mark McGwire says he wants nothing to do with former Oakland Athletics teammate Jose Canseco after Canseco wrote in a book that McGwire used steroids.

Canseco wrote in his 2005 book, "Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big,” that McGwire used performance-enhancing drugs during their time as teammates.

McGwire was not in the reconciliation mood when asked about Canseco. McGwire admitted to using PED's in 2010.

"It's too late. I don't care to ever speak to him again," McGwire told ESPN.com. "What he did was wrong."

Canseco apologized to McGwire and said he regretted writing the book.

"Mark, to me, when I played with him, I looked up to him," Canseco said last weekend. "I idolized him for a lot of reasons -- the guy was on the field, he was off the field. It haunts me till this day that I said those things about him, even though obviously they were true.

McGwire is now the Los Angeles Dodgers hitting coach and missed the team’s 25th anniversary celebration of their 1989 World Series victory over the San Francisco Giants
