New York Mets pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka is scheduled to take the mound for Single-A St. Lucie on Monday in a rehab start, but manager Terry Collins says the pitcher will still need one or two more starts before returning to the majors, reports Adam Rubin of ESPN

Matsuzaka has not pitched since July 24 because of an inflamed right elbow, and was placed on the disabled list on July 26. He threw a bullpen session on Saturday in preparation for making a rehab start.

The 33-year-old began the season in the Mets bullpen before being moved to the rotation in June. He was moved back into the pen just days before he went on the DL.
