In this story:

Luka Doncic's weight and conditioning have been discussed a great deal since his shocking trade to the Los Angles Lakers in February. No one doubts that he is one of the best players in the NBA but his ability to remain one for years to come was a factor in the Dallas Mavericks willingly breaking ties. Doncic proved to be very productive as he helped the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs, where they were easily dispatched by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With all eyes on Doncic's fitness this summer, it sounds like the early returns should please the Lakers.

The Athletic's Dan Woike reports on Thursday that the star player is "incredibly committed" to his conditioning and diet this offseason. And his physique is already showing the effects of all that hard work.

Woike adds that Doncic looks "slimmer" in photos and is working with the Slovenian national team in advance of the EuroBasket tournament.

All of this seems very positive. And considering how much his body has been up for public discussion, perhaps it's no surprise that Doncic, with a new chapter of his already impressive career, has answered the call.

Whether he continues to, of course, will remain up for dissection for the duration of his playing days. Fair or otherwise.
