Former Cleveland Browns receiver Nate Burleson said Monday he thinks receiver Josh Gordon will have a lot of success after he returns from his one-year suspension.

“When Gordon gets back, he’s going to be trouble for this league,” Burleson said on ESPN Radio Monday. “He’s gonna tear some stuff up.”

Gordon is suspended for the 2014 NFL season after a positive drug test.

Burleson was cut by the Browns on Saturday.

More from ESPN Radio:

“Josh realizes there are some mistakes he made, but he’s at the stage where you realize ... ‘I’m gonna start tightening up my circle, stop going out so much, tighten up my diet.’"

“Talking to Josh over the year, he’s doing that. He’s hitting the maturity mark when he needs to."

“He wishes it happened earlier. I wish I would have hit it earlier.”

Gordon caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards, best in the NFL, and nine touchdowns in 14 games last season. He made the Pro Bowl and the AP All-Pro first team.
