Monday August 10th, 2015

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has signed a five-year extension.

The MMQB's Peter King first reported the news. The Falcons announced the deal shortly afterward.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Jones's contract is worth $71.25 million, with $47 million guaranteed. Jones, 26, had one year remaining on his rookie contract and is expected to earn $10.176 million this season.

Jones collected 104 receptions for a franchise-record 1,593 yards and six touchdowns for the Falcons last season. In four seasons with Atlanta, Jones has caught 449 passes for 4,330 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant signed comparable five-year $70 million deals in July.
