According to Giants wideout Odell Beckham, if it weren’t for him, there wouldn’t be much talk about Redskins corner Josh Norman.

In the August edition of GQ, Beckham claims that his infamous matchup with Norman last season, which included several dustups, drew more attention to the former Panthers corner than would have been given to him otherwise.

“It goes back to what I was saying,” Beckham said, according to Complex. “If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much. But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention that I don’t need. The reason he’s become so relevant is because of me.”

With Norman relocating to Washington, D.C., the two will meet twice this season. The Redskins will visit the Giants on Sept. 25 and host them to end the regular season on Jan. 1.
