Matt LaFleur on Packers Holding Micah Parsons: ‘I Don’t Even Know What Holding Is'

The Packers beat the Bears in Week 14 and took over first place in the NFC North. Green Bay won at home despite the fact that star pass rusher Micah Parsons was relatively quiet, as he had just one tackle and was credited with two hits on Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams.
If you ask any Packers fan, they will explain that Parsons was held in check because the Bears offensive line was literally holding him for most of the game. One particularly egregious non-call came in the fourth quarter as the Bears were driving down the field to try and tie the game.
Parsons ran around the left edge, but had his head and neck wrapped up by Bears right tackle Darnell Wright. With Parsons in a headlock, Wright was able to push him past Williams, who escaped and made a big throw for a fist down. The NFL posted the highlight on X and you can see Parsons on his knees asking where the flag is as Williams throws the ball.
Parsons was not alone in wondering where the flag was. After the game, coach Matt LaFleur, fresh off a quick handshake with Ben Johnson, carefully expressed his displeasure with the non-calls against Parsons by saying, "I guess I don't know what holding is anymore."
Here's LaFleur on Parsons not getting this call.

“Officials, I don’t think their jobs are easy by any stretch. I think it’s a difficult job, but I guess I don’t know what holding is anymore because I thought it was a pretty clear and obvious hold. But I guess I don’t know what that means.”
This was not the first or last time that Parsons will be held without consequence this season. The Packers will just have to keep dealing with it.
