On Sunday the Packers traveled to Denver to take on the Broncos in a meaningful game for both teams as they jostle for playoff position in their respective conferences. In the second half, Green Bay superstar Micah Parsons went down after taking an awkward step in pursuit of Bo Nix—and it didn’t look good.

The Broncos possessed the ball late in the third quarter with the Packers leading, 23-21. Nix dropped back to pass and Parsons quickly darted into the backfield. Nix scrambled to his right to escape and Parsons tried to follow. Upon planting his left leg, Parsons suddenly pulled up and hit the ground a few seconds later, clearly in pain.

Non-contact injuries are never good to see. Parsons appeared to be grabbing at his knee and was visibly hurting. As noted above, it makes for the second significant blow dealt to the Packers in the third quarter of Sunday’s game; Christian Watson was ruled out with a chest injury moments before Parsons went down.

The All-Pro pass rusher walked off the field with the team’s trainers and headed straight to the locker room.

Green Bay acquired Parsons from the Cowboys on the eve of the 2025 regular season following a prolonged contract dispute with Dallas. The Packers gave Parsons a massive $186 million extension after trading two first-round picks and Kenny Clark for his services. It took the star pass-rusher a while to warm up, but entering Week 15 he had 12.5 sacks on the year, 1.5 sacks short of his career high.

The Packers seem suited to go on a deep playoff run regardless of what unfolds in Denver on Sunday and will be desperately hoping Parsons won’t be sidelined for long.
