Two days after the Baltimore Orioles decided against signing reliever Grant Balfour, the reliever said he has garnered interest from four teams in free agency.
Balfour and the Orioles agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal last Tuesday, which was contingent on Balfour passing a physical. The Orioles eventually became concerned with issues in Balfour's right, throwing shoulder, eventually leading them to call off a press conference introducing Balfour — as well as the deal altogether.
Balfour spoke with Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM on Sunday, Balfour insisted he was healthy. He said that four teams are interested in acquiring him, including one that has made an offer. All of those teams, he said, are interested in him as a closer.
