The Cleveland Indians and outfielder Michael Brantley have agreed to a four-year, $25 million contract extension, The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Paul Hoynes reported Monday. Hoynes reported that the deal contains an $11 million club option for a fifth year.

The contract will avoid arbitration proceedings between Brantley and the Indians. An arbitration hearing is scheduled for Feb. 17. The 26-year-old Brantley, who was acquired back in 2008 in the trade involving CC Sabathia, batted .284 with 10 home runs and 73 RBI last season. Last year, Brantley set career-highs in home runs and stolen bases (17), while also playing in a career-high 151 games.

Brantley's deal is done. Four years for $25 million with an $11 million club option. AAV of deal is $6.25 million a year. #Indians.
