Neymar turns ankle in training, gives Brazil a scare, but continues playing

The list of star players not participating in the World Cup -- either through injury, snub or failure to qualify -- is long enough. Which is why when Neymar went down in Brazil's training session on Monday, fans were understandably on pins and needles, plenty fearing the worst.

The mass hysteria can be put on hold, though. Neymar turned his right ankle while trying to track a teammate (with still photos of him laying on the field while trainers tended to him making the rounds and causing a collective social media freakout), but he was able to continue on in the session, according to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte. Lower-body injuries aren't new to Neymar, who had to miss a month in the spring with a metatarsal injury suffered in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, but he appears to be on track to go when Brazil opens the World Cup on Thursday against Croatia in Sao Paulo.
