Last season, West Ham struggled at times throughout the Premier League campaign, though the club finished 13th on the table, comfortably clear of relegation. This offseason, the Hammers added Pachuca forward Enner Valencia, who arrives in exchange for £12 million. The squad also picked up Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson on loan.

Tottenham Hotspur finished 6th last season on the table with 69 points, a bit disappointing for a team that was expected to compete for a Champions League place. This summer, the club added Ben Davies and Michael Vorm from Swansea City. Tottenham also signed American defender DeAndre Yedlin from MLS side Seattle Sounders, though Yedlin will stay with his current club through the end of the MLS season.
