Harvard (1-1) battles Elon (1-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina, in the consolation game of the second annual Asheville Championship. The Crimson lost to Louisiana to open the tournament on Friday night before the Phoenix fell to East Tennesee State in the second game of the four-team event. Harvard is coached by Tommy Amaker, who is in his 15th season at the Ivy League school and is 265-153. The Crimson were 13-13 a season ago and haven't been to the NCAA tournament since 2015. Billy Taylor is in his first year coaching the Phoenix after three years as an assistant at Iowa. Elon's lone Division I postseason berth was in the 2013 CIT.

Harvard trailed Louisiana by 11 at halftime but got to within five at 53-48 with 7:51 to go after falling behind by 20 in the second half, with the Ragin' Cajuns taking a 75-61 victory. Chris Ledlum had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Crimson, while Sam Silverstein came off the bench to score 14 points and Justice Ajogbor blocked three shots in 17 minutes.

The Phoenix fell behind by 10 before the first TV timeout and never got closer than six points in the second half in a 77-64 loss to East Tennessee State on Friday. John Bowen scored 17 points for Elon, while Sean Halloran had six assists and four steals. 

Harvard and Elon are meeting for the first time.
