Creighton improved to 4-0 on Thursday night by overpowering visiting UC Riverside 80-51. Baylor Scheierman scored 17 points to pace the Bluejays while Trey Alexander finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Red Raiders held off visiting Louisiana Tech on Nov. 14 for a 64-55 victory. Texas Tech went on an 11-1 run midway through the second half to pull away from the Bulldogs. De'Vion Harmon went for 15 points, six assists and four steals while Kevin Obanor had 15 points and eight rebounds. Daniel Batcho blocked a career-high six shots.
The Bluejays are 3-1 all-time against the Red Raiders, most recently claiming an 83-76 win in overtime in the third-place game of the Las Vegas Invitational. Louisville and No. 9 Arkansas are the other teams on the top of the bracket in Maui.
